I'm an atheist but I'm sure if Jesus was real he'd hate to see something like this going on in his name. When I heard there was a clergyman who left a church over this, I was pretty happy. However I didn't know this much. The fact one of theirs left over this should tell them what's going on. Also let us not forget this is a non-violent movement. What gets me the most, and any actual thinker, is what makes people think this is against capitalism. I have my issues with it too, but it doesn't mean I hate it. Keep in mind nobody has been injured or killed yet. They don't want to hurt anyone and they are taking the proper measures to minimize any and all injures done to people so far. It's only been when the police make something happen that people get injured.
I would like to say "thank you" to Fraser Dyer, the chaplain who left St. Paul's Cathedral. According to the AP he cites the church's decision to instigate legal action against the protesters" as leaving him "feeling embarrassed by the position the Dean and Chapter have taken."
The entire congregation should be out there with them. The church needs to be a center for the occupation. By doing so they will be showing solidarity with the people, which to me is the only good use of a church. Instead they are so full of themselves they are going to possibly use the state to kick them away? Definitely not helping your image St. Paul's. Not at all.
