Beijing – Chinese police arrested 114
people after a four-month investigation into fake drugs. A statement
released by the Ministry of Public Security says more than
65-million pills were confiscated from a network that was spread
around eight of the country's provinces.
Some of the drugs were made using corn
powder or starch while others were simply repackaged past their
use-by dates. Police also found animal feed, chemical pigments, and
other harmful ingredients.
The investigation started after police
noticed a woman in a pharmacy substituted real medicine with fake.
