Dortmund, Germany – A cleaning woman accidentally damaged a piece of art valued at $1.1-million dollars.
The work of art, Martin Kippenberger's “When It Starts Dripping
from the Ceiling”, remains in its place after the cleaner scrubbed
away a patina meant to look like a dried rain puddle, Reuters reports.
It's not yet determined if the patina
would be restored or kept in its current condition but the insurance
adjusters are assessing the damage. Dortmund city spokeswoman
Dagmar Papajewski said the company employing the cleaning staff told
them to stay at least eight inches away from the piece and it's not
exactly sure why the patina suffered such a fate.
